"Buffalo Remembrance Portraits"
When I learned of the mass shooting in Buffalo, New York -
a targeted act of racially motivated hatred - my heart broke.
In the midst of grief I read about each person's life,
which prompted me to create these small portraits.
Portrait painting is not one of my primary
genres, but I put aside my hesitancy
and followed my heart.
I share these paintings in their memory.
